Sesame Chicken
Pan-seared chicken tossed in a sticky sesame sauce with soy, honey, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic.
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ lbs chicken breast, diced into 1-inch cubes
- 1 T olive oil
- ¼ C low-sodium soy sauce
- ¼ C water
- 2 T honey
- 1 ½ T packed brown sugar
- 1 T rice vinegar
- ¼ t toasted sesame oil
- 2 t minced fresh ginger
- 2 t minced fresh garlic
- 2 t cornstarch
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions, for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a 12-inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken and brown on bottom about 3–4 minutes, then flip and cook another 3 minutes. Make sure all chicken is cooked through.
- While chicken is cooking, whisk together soy sauce, water, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and cornstarch in a small bowl.
- Stir the sauce in with the cooked chicken and continue to cook and toss until sauce has thickened.
- Serve warm garnished with green onions and sesame seeds. Best part — enjoy!
