White Pizza
Homemade dough topped with a creamy Alfredo sauce and three white cheeses — no red sauce, no regrets.
Dough
- 1 1/2 C all-purpose flour
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 3/4 t salt
- 1 T honey
- 2 T olive oil
- 1 C hot water
Alfredo Sauce
- 1 T butter
- 1 T flour
- 1 C heavy cream
- 1/2 C Parmigiana cheese, freshly grated
- 1 t Italian seasoning
Toppings
- 3 different white cheeses (e.g. mozzarella, Parmigiana, Bierkäse)
Instructions
- In a measuring cup, add the yeast, honey, and 1/2 cup hot water. Mix and let stand until yeast activates.
- In a mixing bowl, add the flour, salt, and oil.
- Add the yeast water to the flour and mix on low. Add the other 1/2 cup of water and mix until you get a dough. Depending on the flour, you may need to add more water a tablespoon at a time.
- Once the dough is formed, hand knead for 5 minutes. Cover with a hot towel and let rest 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, knead again and recover for 30 more minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Melt the butter for the Alfredo sauce in a saucepan, then add the flour to make a roux.
- Grate the cheese.
- Add heavy cream to the roux and mix until smooth. Add the freshly grated Parmigiana and seasoning; mix until smooth and combined.
- Roll out the dough on a pizza tray to desired thickness. Using a fork, lightly poke holes in the dough to prevent bubbling.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, then remove from oven.
- Add the Alfredo sauce and your white cheeses of choice.
- Bake for another 8–10 minutes.
- Best part — enjoy!
